CARAMEL CORN 1/2 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE 1 CUP SUGAR 1/2 CUP LIGHT CORN SYRUP 1 t VANILLA 1 t SODA 12 CUPS POPPED CORN 1 CUP DRY ROASTED PEANUTS BRING TO BOIL BUTTER, SUGAR, AND SYRUP; COOK FOR 5 MINUTES. REMOVE FROM HEAT; ADD VANILLA AND SODA. POUR OVER POPCORN AND NUTS IN A LARGE PAN (A ROASTER PAN WORKS WELL); STIR WELL. BAKE AT 250 DEGREES FOR 1 HOUR STIRRING EVERY 15 MINUTES.
